Stress is a response to life’s ups and downs. Chronic stress has been identified as a contributing factor in many dis eases of the immune system and the development of depression and other mental health issues. Environmental factors such as social or work related problems can be the trigger for this excessive stressed state.
Have you been under stress? Has it been prolonged for so long that it’s become your ‘normal’, it’s now difficult for you to know the difference between stress and relaxed states?
Signs of excess stress include: poor judgement; a dominating negative outlook; excessive worrying; moodiness; irritability; agitation; lack of ability to concentrate; unable to relax; feeling lonely, isolated or depressed; eating too much or not enough; sleeping too much or not enough; withdrawn from fun social interactions; increased sensitivity to pain; hormonal imbalances, poor digestion or increased blood pressure.
Symptoms of excess stress include: feelings of alarm; adrenalin production; exhaustion; muscular tension; and headaches.
Reflexology promotes the balance of the physical, mental and emotional (energy in motion) aspects in the body. It produces the most profound and deep relaxation. It is in this state of deep relaxation that stress levels are reduced and feelings of wellbeing occur.
Stress, toxins and illness create blockages in the body inhibiting the natural flow of energy in the body. These blockages manifest in the corresponding reflex points. Stimulation of the congested reflexes assists in clearing of these blockages, allowing the flow of energy be restored.
Ongoing or a series of Reflexology treatments will restore balance to your body giving you that zest of life back or can be part of your stress management program.
I look forward to seeing you at your next session at Heel to Heal.
Many Blessings
